Employer Privacy Collection Notice

Nebulous Enterprises Pty Ltd ABN 13 634 749 509 trading as ContriPay
Effective date: 1 November 2026

This notice explains what personal information ContriPay collects from you as an employer, why we collect it, and who we share it with. It is provided under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Our full privacy policy contains additional detail on how we store, protect, and manage all personal information held by ContriPay.

Your personal information

We collect the following personal information about you as the nominated contact for your ContriPay account:

  • Your name, email address, and phone number
  • Your sign-in credentials, managed through Supabase Auth

This information is used to administer your account, communicate with you about contributions and invoices, and meet the contact person requirements of the SuperStream standard.

If your business is a sole trader, the refund bank account details you provide (BSB, account number, and account name) may also constitute your personal information. These details are required by the clearing house to return funds if a super contribution cannot be processed. They are encrypted at rest.

Payment information

ContriPay platform fees are collected by Stripe Inc, our payment processor. Your payment credentials are collected directly by Stripe — they do not pass through ContriPay's servers.

If you pay by BECS direct debit, Stripe collects your BSB, account number, and account name and generates a Direct Debit Request mandate for your acceptance. If you pay by card, your card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure payment form. In both cases, ContriPay stores only a Stripe customer reference number — no raw payment credentials are held by ContriPay.

Stripe handles invoicing, receipts, failed payment retries, and refunds. See stripe.com/au/privacy for Stripe's privacy policy.

Information you supply about contractors

When you record a job in ContriPay, you provide information about the contractor and the engagement. We collect and hold the following for each job:

FieldWhat it captures
ContractorThe contractor engaged for the job
Job dateThe date the work was performed
Payment amountThe amount paid to the contractor
Super amountThe super contribution calculated for the job
InvoiceThe recipient created tax invoice generated for the job

For each job, we also hold a super payment record capturing the employer ABN as submitted to the clearing house, the reference returned by SuperChoice, the payment status, and the submission and clearing dates.

Your responsibility as the employer. The information you supply about contractors relates to them as individuals. You are responsible for ensuring it is accurate and that you have authority to provide it to ContriPay for the purpose of processing the contractor's super contribution.

Why we collect this information

To calculate, record, and submit super contributions to each contractor's nominated fund via the SuperChoice clearing house, to generate and deliver recipient created tax invoices, to post those invoices to your accounting software, and to administer your ContriPay subscription.

Who we share this information with

  • SuperChoice Services Pty Limited (ABN 78 109 509 739)

Authorised representative of PayClear Services Pty Limited (ABN 93 124 852 320), AFSL 314357. SuperChoice processes and routes super contributions via SuperStream. PayClear holds contribution funds in transit prior to disbursement to each contractor's nominated fund. SuperChoice also passes member verification requests to the contractor's fund. These carry your business name, ABN, and contact person details along with the contractor's member details.

You should consider the SuperChoice Clearinghouse Combined Financial Services Guide and Product Disclosure Statement before using this service. This notice contains general information about the clearing house and does not take into account your individual objectives, financial situation, needs, or tax circumstances.

  • Xero Limited

ContriPay posts RCTIs to your Xero account using your own Xero OAuth connection. Xero receives only the data necessary to create each RCTI.

  • Stripe Inc

Our payment processor for ContriPay platform fees. Stripe receives your name, business name, and contact email to create a billing record. Payment credentials are provided directly to Stripe as described above.

  • Your contractors

Each contractor receives their own RCTI for each job. Contractors do not have access to your bank account details, payment method, or subscription information at any time.

We do not share your information with any other third party unless required by law.

What you can see about your contractors

To help you resolve a member verification problem or a rejected contribution, ContriPay shows you the name of the contractor's super fund, the fund's USI (or the fund's ABN for a self managed super fund), the last 2 digits of their member number, and the result of the member verification check that ContriPay sends to the fund. You can see this for every contractor who has accepted your invite. ContriPay does not show you the contractor's TFN or bank details. Bank account details appear on the recipient created tax invoice in your accounting software so you can pay the contractor. You must use the fund details only to resolve the problem and the bank details only to pay the contractor.

Storage

All information is stored in Australia on Amazon Web Services infrastructure in Sydney (AWS ap-southeast-2). Refund bank account details are encrypted at rest. Payment credentials are held by Stripe under Stripe's own security controls.

Your rights

You can request access to, or correction of, your personal information at any time. You can update your contact details and account information directly within ContriPay. For other requests, contact us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days.

If you have a privacy concern you can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or by calling 1300 363 992.

Consequences of not providing your information

ContriPay cannot process super contributions without a nominated contact person and a valid refund bank account for the clearing house. Information you supply about contractors must be complete and accurate, as incomplete job records cannot be submitted to the clearing house.
